December Happy Hour
Big Hunt 12/17/2009 - Over 20 young professionals met at Big Hunt in Dupont and donated canned foods to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Over 40 pounds of food was donated to this charitable organization.
November Volunteering Opportunity
AFAC Logo 11/14/2009 - YHPS members volunteered with the Arlington Food Assistance Center for one of their largest food drives on November 14th in conjunction with Arlington Boy Scouts. AFAC provides supplemental groceries to Arlingtonians who cannot afford to purchase all the food they need.
September Happy Hour
August Happy Hour 9/30/2009 - 19 young professionals met at Vapiano Restaurant in Chinatown. Attendees where from organizations such as Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Booz Allen Hamilton and Christian Communities Group Homes.

David Kessler Talk 6/13/2009 - Drawing on his experiences at the FDA, where he oversaw landmark decisions on food labeling and tobacco control, Dr. Kessler focused his talk on the two major preventable causes of death in the United States: tobacco and obesity. He focused on both the micro-level (biological) and macro-level (social) determinants of human health, as viewed through the lenses of diet and chronic disease prevention. (more)
